Welcome to the website of the historical cave cadastre of the Commissione Grotte Eugenio Boegan

When the Società Alpina delle Giulie saw the end of the 40 year relationship which tied it to the Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia for the ‘conservation, management and implementation for public use of the regional Cave Cadastre of Friuli Venezia Giulia’, the Commissione Grotte Eugenio Boegan decided to continue what it saw as a service to the community in a different way. This is also due to the fact that the core part of the Regional Cadastre consists in most part of the data derived from the Historic Cadastre of the CGEB and from the data which the CGEB itself, as well as by other groups and local individual speleologists, supplied for the implementation of the Regional Cadastre.

The aim was to publish online, with the help of the Geomorfology, Applied Geology, Informatic Cartography Group (GGACI) of the Department of Geological, Environmental and Marine Sciences (DISGAM_UniTs) - University of Trieste - , the Historic Cadastre of the CGEB, allowing everybody to consult it.

At the moment the online data are essentially those which were sent by the Regional Cadastre of Friuli Venezia Giulia to all the regional speleological groups. The CGEB want to continue to implement its Historic Cadastre and to make available online all the documentation on the thousands of caves which the Historic Cadastre of the CGEB contains.
